Confederation Was A Mistake

Newfoundland officially joined Canadian Confederation on March 31, 1949, becoming Canada's 10th province. Led by Joey Smallwood, this historic union followed a hotly contested series of referendums. Today, the province is known officially as Newfoundland and Labrador.Key Milestones in Newfoundland's Confederation JourneyEarly Rejection (1869): Newfoundland delegates attended the 1864 Quebec Conference that laid the groundwork for Canada, but the idea was overwhelmingly rejected in the 1869 election. Newfoundlanders fiercely defended their independence.Loss of Responsible Government (1933): Plagued by massive public debt and the economic devastation of the Great Depression, the Dominion of Newfoundland voluntarily surrendered its self-governing status. Britain took over direct administration through a Commission of Government. The 1948 Referendums: Following World War II, a National Convention debated the future of the colony. After a close first vote in June 1948, a runoff refer...

Trump Taking Greenland - How Could He Do It?

Here is how it could be done; U.S. President Donald Trump is fixated on taking control of Greenland, a vast, sparsely populated and mineral-rich island situated between the Arctic Ocean and the North Atlantic Ocean. “It’s so strategic,” Trump told reporters onboard Air Force One on Sunday. “Right now, Greenland is covered with Russian and Chinese ships all over the place. We need Greenland from the standpoint of national security.” His comments, which came hot on the heels of an audacious military operation in Venezuela, sounded the alarm across Europe, with Denmark warning that an American takeover of Greenland would mark the end of the NATO military alliance. The U.S. president, however, is yet to waver. Indeed, the White House ramped up trans-Atlantic tensions even further on Tuesday, saying that Trump and his team are considering “a range of options” to make the self-governing Danish territory a part of the United States — including “utilizing the U.S. Military.” Positioned be...

NEWFOUNDISLAND - 51st STATE OF AMERICA'S 4X DOCKYARDS

Newfoundland shold become part of the United States asap. It would serve as the bridge between America, Canada, Europe, Russia and The Arctic. We need a pilic referendum to do so. As a starting point, the new 51st American State of NEWFOUNDISLAND would host at least 5 Airbases and 3 NAVAL Dockyards on the Island of Newfoundland (NewfoundIsland). They would be as follows; NEWFOUNDISLAND - 51st STATE OF AMERICA AIRFIELDS 1.St. John's (Airbase East Coast), 2. Gander (Airbase Centrak 1), 3. Grand Falls, (Central Airbase 2 - NFLDISLE would operate 2 central airfields for operational redundancy and strategic backup) 4. LABRADORLAND- AMERICA'S 52ND STATE

digenous peoples of Labrador include the Northern Inuit of Nunatsiavut, the Southern-Inuit of NunatuKavut, and the Innu of Nitassinan.[1][4] Etymology Labrador is named after João Fernandes Lavrador, a Portuguese explorer who sailed along the coasts of the Labrador Peninsula in 1498–1499.[5] Labrador's name in the Inuttitut/Inuktitut language (spoken in Nunatsiavut) is Nunatsuak (ᓄᓇᑦᓱᐊᒃ), meaning "the big land" (a common English nickname for Labrador[6]). Why Trump Wants Greenland

DJ Trump wants Greenland to prevent occupation of it by Russia or China. He says you have to own it to defend it. "You don't defend leases" he said; US President Donald Trump has said he is seeking "immediate negotiations" to acquire Greenland for national security reasons - and insisted he "won't use force". His repeated demands to take control of the territory have been rejected by Greenland's leaders, and by Nato member Denmark, of which the island is a semi-autonomous territory. This has led to a wider diplomatic row, with Trump initially threatening additional trade tariffs against a number of European allies for opposing his plans. At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Trump said he had dropped the proposed tariffs after forming "the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland" following talks with Nato Secretary General Mark Rutte.
